The Wonderful Gospel Message

By Wale Orekan, Nigeria

Happy New Year! We praise the Lord for another year to serve Him together with you. Thank you, for your faithful prayers and support. Your partnership enables us to preach the wonderful Gospel message.

Praise the Lord for our recent deaf conference. We had 68 in attendance. This was probably the lowest attended conference; yet, we had four great days of fellowship. There were three people who made professions of faith, and everyone else rededicated themselves to the Lord.

Please pray for the family of this young lady who died in a terrible car accident. She was a member of Berean Independent Baptist Church and a faithful camper to Camp Hope. I praise the Lord that she heard the wonderful Gospel message in time!

We thank God for the success of our New Year’s Eve service. This was the first time that we had it at the Deaf Center. This is a new building. This center is on the outskirts of Abeokuta. There were 170 Deaf that attended. Almost one-third of these were first time visitors. A simple salvation message was preached. Several hands were raised for salvation. We collected their contact information and will deal with them individually. It is very important that we have the time to make sure they understand the wonderful Gospel message. Please pray about this.

The Lord gave me the opportunity to lead Ekundayo to Christ. This man came up to me while I was waiting for someone else. He looked so sad and troubled. The first thing that he asked me was, “How can a man be happy?”

I shared portions of Scripture with him from the Book of Ecclesiastes and from Psalm 1. I told him that without Christ there is no happiness on Earth. I then preached the wonderful Gospel message to him. His heart was receptive. He wanted to be saved immediately. Please pray for him; he has gone through a lot in life. His name Ekundayo means my tears have turned to joy! How marvelous!

We are relocating to Abuja this week as mentioned in my last letter. We praise the Lord for providing a significant portion of this cost through faithful supporters. God is good! Please pray for us as we move and re- settle. We are excited. We look forward to what God has for us in Abuja, as we preach the wonderful Gospel message!

Thank you so much for your prayers and support. We love you and pray for you!
