The Yingling’s Prayer Prompter
Our recent God Loves People Conference in Ludington, Michigan, gave us a fresh reminder of what it means to strive together in missions. Lighthouse Baptist Church welcomed our BIO family warmly, and the preaching, testimonies, and fellowship encouraged us greatly.
In July we traveled to the Philippines. Nicole and I spent time with family and ministry friends in Negros Oriental and saw firsthand some of the work being done there. We are thankful for those who serve faithfully on the field and for the churches that stand behind them. We were also very thankful to meet our newest grandson, Simeon John “SJ” Gonzales.
I had the privilege of organizing the missions conference at Avon Park Correctional Institution. Although I could not attend because I was in the Philippines, we were grateful to hear that the conference was a tremendous success, even with the chapel being remodeled and the prison experiencing a lockdown. Please pray that the Lord will continue to use the church inside this prison to advance missions.
In August, we traveled to St. Vincent to join Dexter and Jackelle Kirby for the seventeenth anniversary of Grace Community Baptist Church. I had the privilege of speaking at the celebration, and it was a joy to see their ministry firsthand. Nicole and I also enjoyed traveling with our friend John Conrad of the Carpenter’s Project and visiting the Baptist Bible College of the Caribbean. It is always exciting to see what God is doing in different parts of the world and to learn how we can strive together in missions.
I will be traveling to Ethiopia October 16–26 for East African Baptist Mission’s annual Global Missions Conference. Before the conference, I will have the opportunity to teach on missions for three days at East African Baptist College. I would appreciate your prayers as I prepare and teach. Please pray that the lessons will be clear and that the Lord will use the conference to encourage the churches as they make Christ known throughout East Africa. Please also pray that the Lord will provide the funds needed for the trip. If He leads you to help with the expense, we would be grateful.
